Hunt Description

This hunt has been discounted as follows:

The hunt will take place on the Mainland east of Ketchikan based out of a remote beach tent camp.

Your jet travel should be scheduled from your home to Seattle to Ketchikan via Alaska Airlines. Most hunters arrive in Ketchikan about 4 pm. Since the airport is on an Island across from Ketchikan it is usually about 5:30 pm before you get checked into a motel. There are several motels to choose from but most of my past hunters have stayed at the Best Western Landing.

The next morning we will take a charter with pilot, Jeff Carlin, on a breathtaking ride through the Misty Fjords to our remote beach camp. The charter flight cost is included in the hunt rate.

We will set up a beach style tent camp and hunt using a small Zodiac as transport.

I am a vendor and have all necessary licenses and tags on hand. Non-resident hunting license fees are $85 and the Black Bear tag is $225. Fishing licenses vary in price.

I will be guiding this hunt with the help of Dana Lingenfelter. He will go along as camp guard / cook / beatch. While we are out hunting Dana will make sure the camp has no unwanted visitors of the furry kind.

I have hunted this area for many years and know it well, as well as the Bears habits.

We usually get in some fishing and crabbing, as well.

There are Black, Cinnamon and we have taken one Blue Bear in our area.

You will be able to look over many Black / Cinnamon Bear during your 7 day hunt and be very selective. Some Bear will be rubbed but there will be new Bear showing up from the higher den areas every day. Our success on these prime time hunts is very high. You can expect to take a 61/2 to 71/2 foot Bear with a skull size of 18 to 21 inches. We have taken some over 21 inches in the past.

The package does not include licenses; tags; meat & trophy shipping costs; travel expenses; hotel lodging & meals before, during or after the hunt; alcoholic beverage; or gratuities.

A 50% deposit is required to confirm desired dates with the balance due upon arrival. No refunds of deposits. A negotiated portion can be applied to a future hunt.
